STEP1 Installing the AL300 gateway
The AL300 gateway is the heart of the system: it collects the operating parameters of the systems by reading wired or LoRaWAN wireless sensors and pulling in registers over Modbus or BACnet from heat pumps, inverters, heat metering systems and other equipment.
The same AL300 also commands the equipment, through automation logic running locally and setpoints and schedules set from the Optimo IoT cloud dashboards.

STEP2 Monitoring and control on cloud dashboards
The Optimo IoT cloud dashboards let you monitor the plant remotely in real time, change operating setpoints and schedules and set up different operating scenarios for the plant, all from a single interface

System configuration
The application covers remote monitoring and control of a residential heating plant made up of a natural gas boiler and two heat pumps. Everything is managed through the QE.GW master electrical panel, which houses the AL300.
- Temperature sensing: Monitoring of the hydraulic circuits through QE.TEMP expansion modules (Modbus link to the QE.GW master panel), each with 8 immersion probes, PT100 o NTC.
- Equipment control: States and alarms are read through the gateway’s 8 onboard digital inputs. The boiler, heat pumps and circulation pumps are commanded through the gateway’s 8 digital outputs, wired to power relays fitted in the QE.GW panel.
- Energy monitoring and diagnostics:
- Integration of Modbus meters to monitor the electrical load of the heat pumps, for energy and diagnostic purposes.
- Collection of generation data from the photovoltaic plant over the SunSpec Modbus.
- Heat metering: Integration of the per-apartment heat meters through an M-Bus/Modbus.
User interface and Web App
The collected data is sent to the Optimo IoT Web App. The platform gives each building its own page, so residents can track their own consumption in real time. The building manager can see consumption for every apartment and, together with the maintenance provider, run the heating plant remotely.
Supply and service
- Hardware: Optimo IoT supplies the QE.GW and QE.TEMP panels complete, wired and tested in our workshop.
- Installation: Carried out by the customer.
- Commissioning: Handled by Optimo, remotely or on site as required.
