Integrating the Endress+Hauser Memograph M RSG45
A Plug&Play integration that lets you collect, record and analyse in the cloud the energy and process data gathered by the Endress+Hauser Memograph M RSG45 data logger, making industrial monitoring simpler.
Hardware: system architecture
The setup rests on a simple, efficient network architecture connecting the devices within the production site:
Memograph M RSG45 data logger: The reference instrument in industry for energy monitoring of process fluids, steam, hot water and superheated water. It can monitor critical variables such as flow rate, pressure, temperature and energy.
AssetLinker 300 gateway (AL300): The AL300 gateway acts as the Modbus TCP/IP master on the site network. It polls the Memograph continuously to collect its data.
Simplified network connection: The Memograph M RSG45 is integrated over the standard Modbus TCP/IP protocol, as a slave device. A single network cable is all it takes to connect the instrument physically to the AL300 gateway over the site Ethernet network.
Software: user interface and Web App
Data moves from the field to digital analysis through the Optimo IoT platform, designed to be quick to set up and easy to use:
Native integration (Plug & Play): The platform has a dedicated “Plug & Play” data source for the Memograph M RSG45. This makes bringing in the collected data quick and simple. A few clicks are enough to choose which variables to record on the Optimo IoT monitoring platform.
Flexible dashboards: The energy data and recorded values are made available on analysis and monitoring dashboards. The user interface is fully customisable.
Multi-level and offline management: The cloud system is designed for multi-site and multi-user management. The information stays reachable both in the cloud and offline.
Storage, notifications and reports: The data is stored in a secure cloud database. The system generates PDF reports and .csv exports for further analysis. It also warns operators automatically by SMS and email alert.

The data logger is used mainly in industry for energy monitoring. It can extract and monitor flow rate, pressure, temperature and energy data for carriers such as steam, superheated water, hot water and general process fluids.
An ordinary network cable is all that is needed to connect the instrument and the AL300 gateway. The devices talk to each other over the production site’s normal Ethernet network.
The data logger is integrated over the industrial Modbus TCP/IP protocol. In this architecture the AL300 gateway is the Modbus master, while the Memograph RSG45 acts as a Modbus TCP/IP slave.
Not at all. Adding the device to the platform is a simple, quick Plug & Play procedure. A few clicks in the interface are enough to choose exactly which variables to collect and analyse.
Yes. From the web interface you can export the values as .csv, generate periodic summary reports in PDF, or reach the data through API calls.
