Optimo IoT SMC Smart Case
We are pleased to announce our partnership with SMC Italia, which has produced a new approach to remote compressed air monitoring. With Optimo IoT technology you can collect, analyse and view consumption data straight from SMC Air Management System equipment, combining it with other energy parameters to run the plant genuinely efficiently.
The solution: SMC Smart Case
A portable and plug&play case, designed for running measurement campaigns on site simply and straight away.
It includes:
✔️ Optimo IoT AL300 gateway
The heart of the system: it collects data from SMC equipment and other devices over Modbus, OPC UA, and from probes and sensors, including wireless ones. One gateway to bring all the plant’s data together.
✔️ SMC Wireless Base module
Enables wireless communication with the SMC devices, so data collection is simple and needs no cabling.
✔️ LoRaWAN sensors
They track the compressor room’s electrical draw using LoRaWAN wireless technology, for quick, non-invasive installation.
Monitoring system architecture
The compressed air network monitoring system, with the SMC Air Management System flow optimiser, SMC IO-Link, sensors, and SMC Wireless Base and Wireless Remote.
All the data, always under control
The data collected by the Smart Case is sent to the Optimo IoT platform, reachable in the cloud or locally, and shown on advanced dashboards:
• Real-time analysis of consumption, historical trends and heatmaps
• Configuration of alarms, notifications, KPIs and multi-site analysis
• Dedicated tools for simplified configuration of the SMC Air Management Systems
• Data export to supervisory systems through the OPC UA server built into the AL300 gateway
• Custom automation through the Node-RED environment, included on the device
